I've been working fairly steadily on the new Rose Black book from Rough Cut Comics [link] so this is kinda the first time in a good while I've had the chance to do some colouring purely for my own pleasure. But when I saw this piece pop up as a DD a couple of weeks ago, knowing I had a lull in the Rose pages, I grabbed the image and set it aside. I still had to fit it in around other things, but I got something I'm fairly happy with, without overworking the piece (which I often do)

Dude, this is an amazing coloring job that just perfectly suits the original piece. I'm a costumer who does a lot of Batman costumes (including Gotham By Gaslight) and this is a seriously inspiring piece.

Thanks man. I've actually been meaning to revisit this piece, since my colouring techniques have developed a whole lot since I did this, but it's gratifying to know that it can still find new fans. And wouldn't a western-style Batman be incredibly cool! ^_^

Heck yeah! I've actually got a buddy who's doing one. Although I don't believe he saw your piece beforehand, it definitely has some of the same influences.

Aye, I've seen a few others in the years since 2ngaw posted the lines for this. I'm still kinda surprised that DC have never done an 'official' version.
