TMNT by Ryan Ottley

Okay, this one's been sitting in my in-progress pile for AGES! I downloaded the lines as soon as saw them, probably back when Ryan posted them in March. I think I got started on the flats almost immediately, but I decided to do something special with them, so that took a bit longer. And then I decided that I was gonna use this for another experiment with my mutant cuts & grads technique, so that made it take even longer. Plus, it was a just-for-fun thing anyway, so I only picked it up when I had time and was in the mood.

I'm really glad I took my time over this one tho - I reckon it's a new personal best. The first piece I've done that I really think tops the MOTU one. But you can't deny that these lines totally deserved the hard work. Ryan's work is just brilliant, and it was a total delight to colour, especially in hi-res.

I'll be using the flats I did for this for my permanently-pending flatting tutorial, and I'll release them for others to play with then, but if anyone else fancies colouring these lines just now, there are already a good set of flats by *FlattSquat in the FFC gallery. I'd already started on my own flats so I didn't use them, but I did check them out for the group. The flatting guide is still ... in progress. Anyone fancy helping me out with a bit of Flash-making?

And yeah, they're all wearing red bandanas. Deal with it - it's the way things are meant to be.
